Sylvia began music lessons as a toddler, before beginning violin at five years old, and piano at nine. In a confusing turn of events, Sylvia has now sung with the London Philharmonic at the Barbican, performed a violin solo in the Salzburg cathedral, shouted 4 Non Blondes lyrics on a man's lap in a jazz bar, begun dabbling in accordion, autoharp and ukulele, recorded covers in her spare bedroom, and won an award for a show that involved kazoos, guitars, tiny plastic hands, and a Kate Bush-to-the-death-match.

Raised with a love of music thanks to the Kodaly pedagogy, Sylvia now teaches piano and musicianship to all ages, passionate about teaching others to connect with music.
